UFC BIO Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) Solution, 0.1N (0.1M), is an aqueous sodium hydroxide for laboratory titration, pH adjustment and reagent preparation.
The solution is supplied at a nominal concentration of 0.1 mol/L. For acid–base neutralization, this is equivalent to 0.1N.
Prepared from NF grade sodium hydroxide and 18.2 MΩ·cm deionized water, and 0.2 µm sterile filtered. Refer to the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA) for measured concentration and release results.
Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and lot-specific Certificate of Analysis (COA) available.

Important Safety Information
- CAUTION: Research use only. Not for injection or direct administration to humans or animals.
- Wear eye protection and gloves. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Consult the SDS before use.
Common Applications
- Acid–base titrations
- pH adjustment and acid neutralization
- Laboratory reagent preparation
- Chemical reactions requiring dilute aqueous sodium hydroxide
- R&D and further manufacturing
For quantitative titration, follow your laboratory procedure for standardization before use and periodic re-standardization.
Storage & Handling
- Keep the container tightly closed when not in use. Sodium hydroxide absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, which can change the solution's concentration and titration performance.
- Follow the storage conditions and expiration date printed on the label. For quantitative work, check suitability after opening according to your laboratory's procedures.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are 0.1M and 0.1N sodium hydroxide the same concentration?
Yes, for acid–base neutralization. Each mole of sodium hydroxide provides one equivalent of hydroxide, so a 0.1M solution is 0.1N.
Can this solution be used for titration?
Yes, where your analytical method specifies this reagent. Standardize it as your method requires and use the measured concentration in calculations.
Is this a pH calibration buffer?
No. It is an alkaline reagent for pH adjustment and other laboratory uses. Use a certified calibration buffer to calibrate a pH meter.
Where can I find the actual lot concentration?
On the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the lot number printed on your bottle.
Are bulk quantities available?
Yes. Contact info@ufcbio.com for package options, bulk pricing and lead times.
