Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) Solutions & Pellets
Sodium hydroxide is the most widely used strong base in the lab. Our pre-made NaOH solutions save prep time and give consistent concentrations for titration, pH adjustment, and cleaning.
- 0.1N (0.1M) NaOH, USP/NF Grade: for analytical titrations and fine pH adjustment
- 0.5N and 1.0N (1.0M) NaOH: general-purpose pH adjustment and neutralization
- 5.0N NaOH: a concentrated stock for larger-volume pH work and dilution
- Sterile NaOH, Biotechnology Grade: for cell culture and molecular biology work where sterility matters
- NaOH Pellets (Caustic Soda), USP/NF Grade: for preparing your own solutions at any concentration
Hydrochloric Acid (HCl)
Hydrochloric acid is a strong mineral acid used for pH adjustment, titration, and neutralizing basic solutions. Our 1N HCl solution is ready to use, so you don't have to dilute concentrated acid yourself.
Ammonium Hydroxide
Our 28–30% ACS Grade ammonium hydroxide is a weak base used in buffer preparation, pH adjustment, and analytical procedures.
Choosing the Right Grade
- ACS Grade: meets American Chemical Society reagent specifications. Suited to analytical and general lab use.
- USP/NF Grade: meets United States Pharmacopeia–National Formulary standards. Suited to pharmaceutical and regulated applications.
- Biotechnology Grade (Sterile): for sensitive biological workflows such as cell culture.
Normality vs. Molarity
Normality (N) measures reactive equivalents per liter, and molarity (M) measures moles per liter. HCl gives one H⁺ per molecule and NaOH gives one OH⁻, so for these two chemicals 1N = 1M. For acids like sulfuric acid, which give two H⁺ per molecule, the two numbers differ.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is 1N sodium hydroxide the same as 1M?
Yes. NaOH releases one hydroxide ion per molecule, so 1N and 1M NaOH are the same concentration.
Which NaOH concentration should I use for titration?
0.1N NaOH is the standard choice for most acid–base titrations, because the lower concentration gives more precise endpoints.
Are safety data sheets available?
Yes. A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is available on each product page. Acids and bases are corrosive, so use appropriate PPE and follow the SDS for handling and storage.
Do you ship acids and bases?
Yes, within the contiguous U.S. Some acids and bases are classified as Dangerous Goods. These ship by ground only, can't be shipped internationally, and don't qualify for free shipping. Shipping charges are shown at checkout. See our shipping policy for details.
