Product Highlights

• For purified DNA storage, resuspension and sample dilution in protocols that permit EDTA.
• Sterile, with a USP ⟨71⟩ sterility release specification; filtered through a 0.20 µm filter.
• RNase/DNase tested, with no activity detected as the release criterion.
• Endotoxin specification: ≤ 0.10 EU/mL. For 20X, this limit applies after dilution to 1X.
• pH specified at 25 °C with a tolerance of ± 0.10. The 20X product is tested at 1X concentration.

Common Applications

• Store purified plasmid and genomic DNA in the buffer specified by your protocol.
• Resuspend purified DNA pellets or DNA oligonucleotides when standard TE is recommended.
• Prepare DNA stock solutions and dilutions for compatible analytical workflows.
• Use the concentrate to prepare 1X TE working buffer for routine laboratory use.

Tris buffers pH, while EDTA binds divalent metal ions to help limit metal-dependent nuclease activity. For PCR, qPCR, sequencing and other enzyme reactions, follow the assay's limits for EDTA carryover, because EDTA also binds the magnesium many enzymes require.

Preparation and Handling

• 1X TE: Ready to use. No dilution is required. Store at 2–25 °C.
• 20X TE (250 mL): Dilute 1 part concentrate with 19 parts suitable water to prepare 1X working buffer. For example, bring 50 mL of 20X TE to a final volume of 1 L with water and mix thoroughly. One 250 mL bottle makes 5 L of 1X buffer. Store the concentrate at 15–25 °C.
• Use water and handling conditions appropriate to your application. Maintaining low endotoxin and nuclease levels in the prepared buffer requires suitable water and clean equipment. Use aseptic preparation when sterility is required.
